Navigating the Basics (A Strategic Guide to Golf for Ladies - FIRST TIMERS)

Begin by familiarizing yourself with the fundamentals of golf – the etiquette, rules, and terminology. It's key to learn the language of a new adventure, setting the stage for a confident entrance into the world of golf.

There are soooooo many ways you can start learning the basics, you have to find a way that fits you the best and keeps you interested.

You do not have to remember everything you learn, it can be too much, but the more you expose yourself to the information and when you eventually start playing, it will all click you will build on it. You will remember it all better, once you can apply it or are in a specific situation. The truth is, you really will learn most from your mistakes, the key is to keep the mistakes small enough that they do not have a huge impact. 

Here is a list of some ideas on how to approach the “dive into golf basics”

1. Community college classes - I am a HUGE proponent of that, as it is one of the ways I learned, it really is super reasonably priced, gets you accountable, is thorough, non-intimidating environment, most people are beginners and they cover almost all the basics. It is a GREAT start to your journey to golf. Yes, it can be a commitment, but everything worth it, is commitment.
2. Following bloggers, instagram influencers, YouTube, online golf publications etc. this can more playful and fun way of learning, and you can do it anywhere, however it can leave “learning holes” and you will have to make sure you are covering all the topics.
3. Get a good basic golf etiquette and rule book. This could be a good option for you if you like to read. I love to read, but not sure reading about golf etiquette and rules is my favorite, although I have forced myself to do it before. Maybe you could even start a “book club for beginners” I know that is pushing, but could be fun

In conclusion, when you are getting ready to golf, learning about it can actually be really fun, there are a ton of things that almost sound funny and surprising about golf.
